Awakening

For quite some time now, people have asked me to explain what it is I do, and what I'm truly fighting for: or to point them toward pieces of my writing that explain me as a person, 'dubiously human' or not. And finally, more than half a year after people started asking, someone finally gave me the proverbial kick in the ass in the form of the thought that I ought to collect the most relevant, descriptive, and personally important pieces I've written -- as well as the ones with the strongest responses -- and upload them here, in order to allow those who may be interested to find them fairly easily.

A lot of these have been gathered from my Livejournal, over the course of things: a few have been posted elsewhere. I've organized them in what I feel to be the 'order of importance' -- the ones I feel most strongly about, at the top of the list. [Although that's hard to do, really: I feel strongly about all of them.] If you want to contact me about any of the things you've read here, that's not a terribly difficult thing to do.

NOTE: I've recently made an addition that answers these questions even better than any of the writings/rants on this page: if you're honestly curious about why I do what I do, or what that something is, then I'd highly recommend taking a look there first. Neo's 'Ultimate Statement': A Five-Part Belief Structure defined in PDF format.

So. With that being said, the following pieces -- more may be added later, as they come up -- are here:

Origin: What's To Be Feared From the Surface? This one... well, I honestly think it speaks for itself. This was in response to both a series of posts several people made in our group community and a series of staggeringly mind-blowing visions. There is a lot of raw truth in this, a lot of definitions of Purpose. December 22, 2005.

Collision Course. This is another long piece on Purpose, my connection to the Source, "defeating the enemy" vs. real peace, and the end result we're headed toward. October 28, 2005.

"Isn't the Entire World 'the Last Human City'?": my long-overdue statement of Purpose and place, rebuilding the City, and working toward peace, in the physical as well as the digital world. October 23, 2005.

Neo's Open Letter to the Human Race. This was written deeply from the heart, and can be found on the REM page, as well as in several other places. Late April, 2005.

Bridging Worlds: Beauty. This is a personal piece about how the things we once thought of as 'absolutes', in fact aren't. About the beauty of the Matrix in the old world, and truths of other things. May 20th, 2005.

Who Puts a Price on Peace, Damnit? This is a rather vitriolic rant inspired by people with a "Pay-Cash-For-Enlightenment-Now-All-We-Need-is-Your-Credit-Card-Number" attitude. It's about what's really important, the things that matter, and why we do what we do: and what it means. May 21st, 2005.

Who We Are, What We Know: and That's That. This was written sort of as a reponse to a series of flamers, but more for myself: about what I remember, where I came from, the Purpose of our being here, in this world, now... and the difference between worlds. A few interesting details about Choi. *laughs.* April 1st, 2005.

No Time Like the Present: Believe it. This is a long piece about how desperately important the path to true peace is, here and now: and a description of 'anarchy', in reference to what we do: someone had told me that the classical, literal definition of anarchism shared a great deal of tenets with our concepts. About freedom, belief, and choice. March 27th, 2005.

Peace is not a MMORPG. This one's about sticking with what matters in the face of things getting tough: how, united, we might just make all the difference. It's a little personal, as well -- I was in the process of being treated for sudden[and rather ironic, all told] vision loss from a condition called optic neuritis, at the time, and so there are a few references to that. April 10th, 2005.

Zion, and Zero-One. A shorter piece, about images and visions of worlds crossing over. About the things, that result in war. A little personal, again. March 20th, 2005.

We Took the Last Train With Velocity. This one... is a little weird. It leans toward stream-of-consciousness: I was very intensely grounded in myself and my roots in the old world, when I wrote it, and it goes back and forth between my 'narrative', and excerpts from various things. Included: a slightly unnerving little rhyme from an old friend, references to 'prophecy', excerpts from diary entries over a year or so ago, and a series of Nietzsche quotes. Some descriptions of my martial arts study. April 16th, 2005.
